By Rail: There is no railway station in Chandel. However, Dimapur railway station in Nagaland is located at a distance of 178 km. This railway station is well connected with Chandel. This station keeps trains from various major rail routes of the country.

By Road: Chandel is well connected to the surrounding cities via roadways. Chandel is easily accessible by road as Chandel bus station is located in the center of the city.

Yangpangpoki Lokchao Wildlife Sanctuary

Established in the year 1989, Yangpangpoki Lokchao Wildlife Sanctuary is spread over 185 sq. km. There are about 42 species of mammals, 74 species of live birds, 6 species of amphibians, 29 species of snakes and 86 species of fish. The sanctuary is a natural habitat for a diverse range of flora and fauna and endangered species including the stumped tail macaque, Himalayan black bear, slow-moving lion, wild bear, Indian civet cat, and Hulk gibbon, etc.
