Established in the year 1989, Yangpangpoki Lokchao Wildlife Sanctuary is spread over 185 sq. km. There are about 42 species of mammals, 74 species of live birds, 6 species of amphibians, 29 species of snakes and 86 species of fish. The sanctuary is a natural habitat for a diverse range of flora and fauna and endangered species including the stumped tail macaque, Himalayan black bear, slow-moving lion, wild bear, Indian civet cat, and Hulk gibbon, etc.
